The terminals on my 605a duplex drivers are marked: "1" and "2" on both the lf driver and the hf driver. I assume that 1 is the minus/ground and 2 is the hot on both. I verified this on the lf driver (battery + on 2, battery - on 1) and plus on 2 drives the cone outward. Is the tweeter the same? Just checking to make sure.

Digging back about 50 years here. If I remember correctly positive voltage on 2 produces motion away from the magnet. However, the diaphragm is on the rear of the driver. The listener position is reversed. Therefore, two should be wired positive on the woofer, 1 should be wired positive on the driver. You should be able to verify this with a 1.5 volt (not 9 volt) battery.
